Design and ergonomics of hand tools
Sovják, Richard ; Prokeš, Tomáš (referee) ; Mouralová, Kateřina (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of the power tools ergonomics and also on the economic impact on a sick employee in the Czech Republic. It presents the results of the characteristics of hand tools in terms of their design, usage positions and handling. It introduces current legislation and ergonomic methods, including the newly designed visual tool AAL. The tool enables ergonomic analysis of positional rotation of the limbs, torso and neck, including the input of strength and muscle parameters. AAL is integrated into Excel software with the possibility of integrating data from Rhinoceros software and the Grasshopper module, which automatically generates data. The analysis is based on 3D scans of 144 power tools that are divided into 11 groups. It analyzes 13 typical diseases and their economic impacts. From an economic point of view, the costs per sick employee are almost 57% higher compared to a healthy employee. The author's design of the ergonomic part of the tool is also part of the thesis.

Jarolímek, Jan ; Dzúrová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Blažek, Jiří (referee) ; Nakládalová, Marie (referee)
Health and reducing disparities in health between and within countries are among the principal global sustainable development objectives for the period 2016-2030. The incidence of Occupational Diseases (OD) is characterized by very distinct differentiation, both regional and sectoral, and has considerable dynamics in time and place. Given that Czechia is at the top among all EU member states in terms of employment in the automotive industry and production of new vehicles, new research on OD in the automotive industry acquires importance. The Ph.D. Thesis is conceived as an ecological correlation study focusing on the study of the determinants of OD in automotive industry. Its own core work is to analyze 32,646 cases of OD (in the past 20 years) and a set of data from a survey of 247 companies of the automotive industry (employing nearly 110,000 employees, i.e. 78 % of the economically active population working in this sector). In the present work are used available data from routine statistics, data from registers and basic sanitation data from a questionnaire survey. The study innovatively links research of Global production networks and medical-geographical approach. At the end of the Ph.D. Thesis, specific outcomes for praxis and discusses possible topics for further research in this area are...

The author's impetus to the choise of the working accidents and occupational diseases' topic (resp. the employer's responsability for damages caused to emploees due to working accidents and occupational diseases) for the purposes of the dissertation thesis is owed to (permanently) a very substantial importance of the issue in the terms of labour law-related relationships and generally and essentially society-wide relationships, even if in despite of a very substantial importance of the issue the expert's litterature to the issue of the working accidents and occupational diseases is not to be considered as sufficient. Safety and health protection in the work of nurses at an acute care department
SVOBODOVÁ, Helena
The thesis dealing with the occupational safety and health protection for acute care department nurses had three goals. The first goal was to map the specifics of health protection and safety at work for acute care department nurses. The second goal was to ascertain the most frequent occurrence of failures to adhere to the H&S rules. The third goal was to find out whether the duration of the practice and the level of education affect the H&S knowledge among nurses. Qualitative as well as quantitative research was applied to the ascertainment of the answers to the prepared questions. When the two kinds of research had been set it was necessary to set research questions and hypotheses. The method of hidden observation of nurses working at an anaesthesiology and resuscitation department was applied within the qualitative research. Ten nurses were observed. The method of questionnaire survey sent through the Internet was used to obtain the quantitative results. Surprisingly, two hundred and forty respondents replied to the questionnaire. To confirm the hypotheses a statistical processing was carried out, which confirmed or refuted the significance level of the individual questions and replies. The asset of this work and of a part of its results is a finding that nurses from an anaesthesiology and resuscitation department are aware of the necessity of the adherence to the H&S rules and instructions, which protects their health, but they fail to do it in practice. This is why the results of this thesis might stimulate further solutions. The thesis also contains a proposal how to deal with complicated situations. All solutions are however completely individual and depend on the internal and further rules set by the hospital management.

Occupational accidents and occupational diseases
Štaňková, Helena ; Vysokajová, Margerita (advisor) ; Drápal, Ljubomír (referee)
Occupational accidents and occupational deseases The purpose of my thesis is to analyze the legal regulation of occupational accidents and occupational diseaseses. I focused mainly on legal regulation of employer liability for damage to health workers, the revised in the act 262/2006 Sb., Labour Code. Effective regulation of the issue is highly fragmented, extends to more legal fields. As of 1.1.2013 is expected entry into force of Act 266/2006 Sb., about accident insurance of employees. Accident Insurance Act brings major changes. Workmen's compensation insurance for damage in an industrial accident or occupational disease will be replaced by a new form of social insurance - injury insurance policy with its own system of benefits. The monopoly of two commercial insurance companies, which now carries out mandatory insurance, will be abolished. It entrusts the Czech Social Security Administration, that carries out other types of social insurance. The financial demands, lack of preparedness of the Czech Social Security a ministration and other complications have led repeatedly to postpone the entry into force of the Act. Now underway to further intensive work on amendment of this Act. The question remains whether the Act takes effect at all and, what results this will bring. The thesis deals with the...
